We also cover camera use information, such as f stops and shutter speeds, white balance and ISO settings, so that you can take full advantage of all the features on your camera. A professional photographer begins each safari with an orientation and then provides hands-on instruction as you shoot. Any camera is fine, and all skill levels are invited to attend. Advanced photographers will appreciate our knowledge of best shooting locations. (Register early, these safaris sell out quickly)

Why You Should Come: Each year the trees donated by Japan over 100 years ago provide a gorgeous vista of pink and white ringing the Tidal Basin, making cherry blossoms the signature event of DC’s tourist season. Visitors to the nation’s capital should not miss this extraordinary event, and local residents needing an excuse to see the blossoms now have one: photography instruction! You will learn how to make best use of your camera in shooting people, architecture, landscapes and monuments, and you will come away with gorgeous images in your camera.

Washington Photo Safari has trained over 27,000 amateur photographers since 1999, and this marks the 7th year of cherry blossoms photo safaris. Most of the safaris are taught by Washington Photo Safari director E. David Luria, an architectural photographer trained in Paris, who knows where all the best trees are located!

Tickets can be purchased on the Washington Photo Safari website at www.WashingtonPhotoSafari.com.
