Critics have called Rachel Kudo “an extraordinary pianist who promises to become a legend in this new century.” Winner of the Gilmore Young Artist Award and a graduate of the Juilliard School, Japanese-American pianist Rachel Kudo will share her passion in a richly varied program of classical masterpieces. Featured composers will include Ludwig van Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and American composer Samuel Barber.
Born in Washington, DC Kudo began studying piano at the age of four. Kudo will perform a free concert on April 17th at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage as part of the annual celebration of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. This event is co-presented with the Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
