The Festival’s first event, the Pink Tie Party, kicks off spring and the “Season of the Blossoms” in style. The Party is a key Festival fundraiser and its proceeds support the Festival’s 16-day schedule of cultural and community-based events, activities and performances.
What You Need to Know About the 2010 Pink Tie Party
- Hosted by a celebrity chef (TBD)
- Features 20 top area restaurants and their chefs serving their custom-designed and cherry-inspired dishes and cocktails and a silent auction with items from entertainment and sports properties, travel and leisure companies, high-end retailers, restaurants, museums, and more.
- Will take place on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the W Washington, DC.
- Washington Life magazine will be a key media partner, making Pink Tie the “must-attend” early Spring party among Washington’s young professional and social elite, and guaranteeing strong pre- and post- event promotion and coverage.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is Washington DC's and the nation’s largest springtime celebration offering two weeks of diverse programming that largely is free and open to the public. Entertaining and engaging more than one million residents and visitors, the Festival will take place from March 27 through April 11, 2010.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that produces, supports and coordinates activities around three themes:

¯ Preserving natural beauty and the environment
¯ Cultivating community spirit
