The National Cherry Blossom Festival has several key events that showcase performing arts of different genres. The Festival welcomes the interest and participation of performers and performance groups to be a part of the celebration at these venues:

The performances presented on the Tidal Basin Welcome Area and ANA Performance Stage during the National Cherry Blossom Festival are meant to celebrate the friendship symbolized by the gift of flowering cherry trees from Tokyo to Washington, D.C. and to demonstrate cross-cultural exchange through a dynamic mix of American, Japanese, and other cultural performing arts. Situated in the Festival hub among the cherry trees and with iconic views of the memorials that are in proximity to the Tidal Basin, the Festival strives to incorporate artists that perform family-friendly dances, demonstrations or music that are upbeat and festive – reflective of the celebratory nature of the Festival.
National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade®
One of the largest annual spectator events in Washington, the Parade takes place on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Downtown DC along historic Constitution Avenue. People line the street for blocks to watch the two-hour, televised procession of original floats, giant character helium balloons, and other fun Parade fanfare. Marching bands, specialty units, youth choir members, and tap dancers are sought to add to the energy-filled spectacle. MARCHING BAND APPLICATIONS
The Festival welcomes applications from high school, university, and specialty marching bands with 100+ members, as they are an integral part of the Parade mix. Their pageantry, musical selection, colors, marching style, and auxiliary contributions help create a stunning presentation. The 2018 Marching Band application will be posted soon.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® will be held on the following future dates:
- 2018 – Saturday, April 14
- 2019 – Saturday, April 13
- 2020 – Saturday, April 4

OTHER PARADE APPLICATIONS
2017 Specialty Unit Application (deadline: January 1, 2017)
Youth choirs are invited to perform with hundreds of vocalists on the steps of the National Archives for the youth choir production and perform again as part of the parade finale production for television. Click here for more information and to apply.
