ALLOW FESTIVAL EVENTS TO BE PREDOMINATELY FREE
Funds raised during the Pink Tie Party and Festival auctions are critical to keeping Festival events, such as the Opening Ceremony at DC’s historic Warner Theatre and the Blossom Kite Festival, free and accessible to the community.
LOCAL YOUTH EDUCATION
Support various Festival programs such as the Youth Art Contest and Community Art Show, which received submissions from students representing 40+ DC public and charter schools in 2014.
KEEP DC GREEN, PINK AND BEAUTIFUL
Support the Festival’s Tree Planting Program, which contributes to an increase in DC’s tree canopy, especially in recreational areas east of the river. Plantings have taken place at Kingman Island in the Anacostia River and the two-year project at Oxon Run Park completed in 2013, creating the second largest grove of cherry trees in DC.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a 501-c-3 nonprofit organization, and contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
