About

Celebrating the beginning of a new season symbolized by the cherry blossoms, Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA will launch a new “Views of Japan” event series that will explore perceptions on Japan in other regions around the world. For over seven decades, the United States has nurtured its relationship with Japan as its staunch ally in Asia and increasingly as a valuable global partner.

To explore Japan’s role as the U.S.’s global partner, Sasakawa USA will host a panel discussion on the views of African countries and the U.S. on Japan’s economic and security contributions in the region. Experts will also engage in Q&A and discussion with the audience.

The event will be held at The Cosmos Club from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM. The nearest metro stop is Dupont Circle and there is valet parking ($15/car) and limited street parking available. For more information, visit our event listing here.

Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA is an independent American non-profit, non-partisan institution devoted to research, analysis, and better understanding of the U.S.-Japan relationship. Through research and education programs, Sasakawa USA facilitates people-to-people exchange and dialogue between American and Japanese policymakers, influential citizens, and the broader public.
