METRO

Metro opens doors and gets you to most National Cherry Blossom Festival events. View Metrobus and Metrorail station maps on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website.

For a more enjoyable trip, take Metrorail during non-rush hours to the Smithsonian Station (Blue/Orange lines). Alternatively, the L’Enfant Plaza Station (Orange/Blue/Yellow/Green lines), 7th Street & Maryland Avenue exit, is only an extra 10-minute walk to the blossoms and is much less crowded. For point-to-point directions and trip times, use Metro’s Trip Planner.

Customers are encouraged to use their SmarTrip® card (available online or at any Metrorail station) to receive a $1.00 discount per trip. Click here for Metrorail fares.

Metrobus routes that stop within a ½ mile of the Tidal Basin include the 7Y, 11Y, 13F, 13G, 16F, H1, L1, N3, P1, V7, V9, X1 and 52. For more information about specific routes and fares, visit the WMATA website.

Uber

This year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival is teaming up with Uber, the app that connects you with a driver at the touch of a button, to make sure you have reliable and convenient ride to and from the festival without the hassle of driving and parking!

Uber lets you request a swanky black car, SUV, or low-cost uberX sedan ride at any time using the Uber iPhone and Android. You can track the arrival of your ride on your smartphone, payment is cashless (no need to tip!), and you’ll even receive a text message when your driver arrives.

Sign up with the promo code CHERRYBLOSSOM for $20 off your first ride (new users only. not valid on uberTAXI).

Water Shuttle

Hop aboard a water taxi to the Tidal basin from Georgetown (or from the Tidal basin to Georgetown – DC’s shopping and dining hot-spot). Tickets are $20 round trip or $12 one way, and must be purchased online in advance from www.DC-Cruises.com.

Circulator

Easy access to Downtown attractions and museums via the DC Circulator allows you to come early or stay late and take advantage of more than just cherry blossoms! The DC Circulator is all about downtown Washington, DC. Its five routes link cultural, entertainment and business destinations within the city’s central core.
