Transportation

Getting around the Festival is easier than ever with plenty of options that work for every need!

Getting Here

Parking is limited in the District, especially during the National Cherry Blossom Festival. It’s highly recommended that visitors use DC’s alternative transportation modes listed below to make the most of their experience.

Amtrak Virginia

Ditch the traffic and ride Amtrak Virginia straight to the blossoms—now featuring expanded bus connections and Amtrak Step-Up access for VRE multi-pass holders. Book now at Amtrak.com/virginia15 and save 15% when traveling from Virginia.

Capital Bikeshare

Hop on a bike at one of over 600 Capital Bikeshare stations all around the area. Single trips cost $1 to unlock and $0.05/min on a classic bike.

Cherry Blossom Water Taxi

Avoid the crowds and enjoy spectacular views aboard the Cherry Blossom Water Taxi or on a dining or sightseeing cruise from City Cruises along the Potomac.

City Cruises

Celebrate the history and beauty of DC’s cherry blossoms with City Cruises along the Potomac. Whether for dining and sightseeing cruises or aboard the Cherry Blossom Water Taxi, avoid the crowds and get the most spectacular views from the water!

Lime E-Bikes & E-Scooters

Lime is the micromobility partner of the Festival. Attendees can skip traffic by finding a Lime vehicle throughout the DC area and ride using the Lime app.

Metrobus/Metrorail

Metro is the best way to experience the Festival, with multiple ways to get to BloomFest at the Tidal Basin and most Festival events. Custom cherry blossom SmarTrip cards are available for purchase at select Metro stations. For maps, schedules, and fees, please visit WMATA’s Trip Planner.
